Project Proposal
Subject:
Conformity in dystopia
Guiding Questions:
Rationale:
A lifelong interest in why people give into peer pressure regarding issues such as substance abuse lead me to wonder why people would conform to a dystopian society.
Summary:
I know that when faced with the decision to end someone’s life, live struggle-free, or not be an outsider, people will conform to the wishes or rules of others. I also know that following the submission to the wishes or rules of others, people face discomfort, lack of freedom, or depression.
Prediction:
During my investigation, I predict I will find more drastic reasons to conform to the wishes or rules of others as well as external problems that conformity can create.

Potential project
Upon completion of my inquiry assignment, I intend to simulate a conformity project among my class.
